Post Breast Surgery Therapies

Post breast surgery therapies are a combination of services to

help reduce one or more of the following symptoms.

  • Painful lymph congestion

  • Inflammation and tight skin

  • Scar hypersensitivity

  • Scar hardened places

  • Limited range of motion restriction

  • P.T.S.D. trigger reactions (flinching, tremors, flashbacks)

After surgery, the tissue is usually hypersensitive, swollen, and painful. Lymph congestion builds, especially where two incisions meet as in the diagram of a common “anchor” incision pattern. Whether your breast surgery was elective or you are a breast cancer survivor, you may have these therapies .You may come for these therapies long after the surgery to experience benefits.

The lymph therapy needs to be gentle as the tiniest of lymphatic vessels are as small as a strand of hair. The scar therapy usually removes restrictions and softens the scar tissue with surprising pain relief. The relief usually lasts years. How soon relief is experienced may be almost immediately or typically within a week.

It is necessary to not only treat the lymph system, but also to address the scar tissue. Scars may be a hidden cause of long-term pain and restriction. This specific scar therapy at Calm Relief may help the area to heal faster. Scar therapy can be received when the incision has sealed and no stitches remain. (2-3 months post op or after the port is removed)

Your medical condition, self-care, and lifestyle differ from others. Therefore results vary.. However, the years of developing these combined techniques, have had very positive, quality of life improvements.

For mastectomy surgery, emotional trauma is comforted. The gentle combination of therapies help restore feelings of connectedness, circulation, and nerve calming. This is just as important as pain relief!  An average reaction includes freedom to raise your arm straight on the surgery side.

DEIP flap surgery is a breast reconstruction using the patient’s own body parts for mastectomies. Aftercare for DEIP flap surgery is available at Calm Relief Massage Therapy. When there are no other complications, results usually include significant pain relief. Historically, there has been improved lymph flow, digestion. and elimination. DEIP flap aftercare benefits may be experienced years after the surgery. Call today with your questions. You will be glad you did. The discussion and care is confidential!

Q: When do I see a doctor? If it feels hard or like a tumor, cyst  or suspicious get tested.

Q: How often should I get regular lymph care maintenance? Every three months or more often if you are concerned with fibrocystic breast tissue or have a family history of breast cancer.

Q: Should I avoid anything? Antiperspirant, tight bras, underwire bras (if possible).  Aluminum salts in antiperspirants dry the needed detoxifying moisture, leaving congested debris to clog and create cysts. If you have fibrocystic breast tissue, avoid caffeine, possibly white potato.

VIDEO SHORT TESTIMONY

Before and During a Massage

Finish eating 90 minutes before a massage or bodywork. During a massage with lotion, all clients are draped conservatively. Payment expressing your satisfaction is made after your first received service. No refunds are provided on received services.

After a Massage

The time it takes to disrobe and get dressed is counted as part of your session length, which is standard in massage therapy.

Drink at least two cups of water following a massage. The wonderful feeling after a massage will last longer. Water is needed to cleanse stirred debris.

Should I come with a sore throat or fever?

NO. Sickness is contagious, especially in the first three days.  Massage makes sickness feel worse.  No massage will take place when a fever is present. If you are not sure you should come, call to discuss it. 407-756-4947 Thank you for understanding and providing notice.
